About Aurelia
Aurelia Yeomans is an Australian jewellery artist and founder of her Melbourne based brand. Raised in an artistic family, Aurelia hails from a lineage of goldsmiths, stonemasons, musicians and artists through her Germanic, Swedish and English heritage.
Her introduction into jewellery came at a young age, helping her Aunt bend wires and kiln fire enamel when visiting her workshop in Germany, which instilled a fascination for the ancient alchemical processes of the goldsmithing craft and sparked a desire to carry on the legacy of these traditions - finding expression in a contemporary jewellery form.
Aurelia began her technical training in jewellery, metalsmithing and design in southern Germany at the Arenhaus college in Schwäbisch Gmünd before graduating with a BA and First Class Honours in Fine Art at Melbourne’s RMIT University in 2015. Upon graduating, her work received widespread international interest and exposure that saw her exhibit extensively throughout Australia, Europe and the USA, paving the way for the launch of her brand in 2018.
Aurelia has been featured in numerous publications, and recognised by a number of institutions and awards, including receiving the Debbie Sheezel Enamelling Award for Conceptual Design. She was chosen as a finalist for the Alliages Legacy Award (France) and shortlisted and ranked in the top 3 for the MECCA M-Power Scholarship and Entrepreneurship Award for acclaimed women in business and the arts. She was also a finalist for the prestigious Mari Funaki Award for Contemporary Jewellery. Her artwork has been acquired by the Museum Espace Solidor (France) and she has worked on several significant commissions for the National Gallery of Victoria.
